Birthday Card

Just a quick and easy birthday card today.  I recently got the Hero Arts background stamp Life of Party Words and really wanted to use it on a card.  We had a birthday to go to so I had the perfect chance to use it.  The color combination on this card was inspired by the theme of the party, Cars!  I love to make birthday cards that follow the theme of the party (especially for kid's parties).  You know that they will love it!!  In addition to the color selections being inspired from the colors of Lightening McQueen, I also used a wheel accent as the main focus of my card.  To add dimension I heat embossed my stamped image using clear embossing powder.  What a fun way to make your 'own' patterned paper.  Since I didn't have any white embossing powder I used White Daisy Ink from Close to My Heart to stamp the sentiment and then used clear embossing powder over that as well.  Not quite as sharp as white embossing powder but in a pinch it worked.  So the next time you need to make a birthday card look to the invitation or theme of the party to jump start your card.  Enjoy and thanks for stopping.
