On one of those trips in June I was able to take a much needed mommy break to go visit my best friend in Las Vegas! 5 days, no kids, and scrapbook time! Not even a sudden head cold could hamper my visit. This was my also my first trip to Vegas. I was up early most days (thanks time change) and read in peace and quiet. We enjoyed lovely food. We went out on the strip. But most importantly we enjoyed our time visiting and scrapbooking (you'll see pages up soon I hope). I could not have asked for a more relaxing break. Here are a few of the highlights of my visit (all courtesy of my iPhone).
Of course when we hit the strip we had to watch the water show at the Bellagio. My boys also enjoyed a video that I sent them. I really enjoyed the different styles of architecture and loved how different they looked in the day vs the night with all the lights and people.
One of the things I loved seeing were the mountains in the distance. This view was from the casino and hotel where we attended the Creating Keepsakes Convention (love the panoramic mode on my iPhone). It's such a different feel than when you are downtown on the strip.
A surprise for me were all the palm trees! I was expecting no grass and cacti but not palm trees. Needless to say I have a few pictures of them. ;)
I loved the lights on the strip at night! As I wrote earlier the feeling between day and night on the strip was very different. I wasn't a fan of the huge crowds but those lights were worth the adventure.
I'm not a huge gambler or drinker but I had to play a few slots (unfortunately I didn't leave a winner). This wine was my one and only glass of alcohol on the whole trip. It was a great end to a great day.
We also enjoyed a little Starbucks while I was there. It was so fun to catch up. The best thing about great friends is that no matter how long it's been since you've seen each other it seems like you've never been apart.
Thanks for stopping! I hope you enjoyed my little trip. I did get a lot of scrapbooking done while I was there so as I put the finishing touches on my pages you can be sure they will be showing up here. Until then...Viva Las Vegas!!
Great post, Jenny! :-)
